Evenicle spoilers.
I could just be projecting, but these developments are making me laugh, because they could be interpreted as saying "bloodline-centric rules of succession are justified because they keep greedy statesmen out of the main position of power". I don't think they're actually saying that, but this occurring after all the corruption in Lancelot's election, certainly put me in the mood to laugh.
