tbh the path that they're on now is perfect.

They are, without a doubt, the most successful SakuGakus. I'm sure that Yui & Moa are probably wishing at times that Babymetal never existed and they were instead doing regular idol things, but if they were they'd be performing for literally dozens of people or more realistically just being regular students at home. They can use this as a launching platform for whatever other career they want to do.

Su especially is living her dream, she said that she wanted to be a famous singer/songwriter, and there she is accepting awards on stage and touring all over the world. She isn't a songwriter just yet but being a worldwide famous singer is close enough.

It's been a while since I got into a pointless argument.

With something like Superman, X-Men, or Batman especially you have all of these different gritty reboots meant for teens and adults even if the source material was originally for kids.

With Powerpuff girls, it's pretty much just a children's cartoon. It's less Batman and more Spongebob, even if they do have a bit of a"kick-ass" element.

Of the course the problem is the lack of female representation in pop culture and mass media. I think maybe at best a better cartoon to compare them to would have been Jem and the Holograms but even then that's not saying much and the reference would have been lost to the UK audience.

I don't think that the intent was belittling, they probably sat around in a room for like 10 minutes trying to brainstorm a reference that wasn't Hello Kitty or Godzilla, but on the other hand I doubt Su and Yui & Moa want to be compared to a children's cartoon.

In conclusion, I don't really care that much. Fight me.

If they had one or two songs where they play an instrument that would be cool but if they gave up the dancing altogether just to play the violin and looking grim I wouldn't really be a huge fan of that.
