I lost my wall of text but this comment from someone else explains pretty well what i think about current AL as someone who plays AL:

So you got chatter about Houston II potentially being a backburnered KMS ship that got rebranded as USS, Otto von Alvensleben being a submarine that got changed to a destroyer, and even people looking back and noticing that Reno has the designation for USS New York right there on her glove. And that's not even mentioning grumblings about some of the skins, most recently Wakatsuki and Peter Strasser's Lunar New Year skins looking nothing like their base selves despite being from the same artists.

I'm not that dumb, and judging by the outcry a lot of people were similarly unhappy that Manjuu gave so little of a shit.
