But she wasn't, so despite feeling a little down, I trudged on past Geidontei. Only, now I didn't really want to go and sit in the café on my own, either. I wondered if Marisa would be okay. I wondered if Yamame was currently okay, because I had no idea why she had decided to close off her house for a day. Especially without telling me, which meant that either something sudden had come up, or I'd drastically misinterpreted something. She'd mentioned me by the name that she'd called me a few times, though, so I hoped that it was just the latter. It was too bad I hadn't found a chance to talk to Chen on her own while I was at the Shrine. She could probably have told me exactly what was going on.

I was more or less wandering aimlessly, but my subconscious seemed to have a different plan, because when I finally started to take stock of my surroundings, I was shivering and standing somewhere near the Temple School. I looked down at my hands and noted with some concern that they'd gone almost as white as the snow falling on them, and I couldn't feel them very much. I resolved to turn around and head back to the Shrine. I could always sleep in a different room so that Marisa didn't get upset. So, I turned, my destination clear.

And then, from the door that led to the Temple School, I heard a voice. "Yes, of course, Akyuu. You take care, okay? No over-exertion?" I froze for a second, then swallowed. I knew exactly who's voice that was, and I had a feeling that something bad was about to happen to me. "And no more sneaking out to the pub! With your health…" I saw her step out of the door. Blue skirt, a layer of frills underneath. Simple, black shoes with large red bows. A shirt with a deep cut that showed off her collarbone but just barely avoided showing any cleavage, with strange frill-like things adorning it. Her hair, a silvery sort of colour with streaks of blue, though I was certain it wasn't from greying. Of course, the strangest thing about her - Always had been, in fact - was her hat. Not one person in the village understood what her hat was meat to be. I wasn't even sure if Hieda no Akyuu understood it with all of her knowledge. It looked like a pagoda, but beyond that, no one was sure. And of course, not once was I able to get an answer from her. Miss Keine Kamishirasawa closed the door of the Temple School. She was wearing a thick scarf that wrapped over her neck and shoulders, and a pair of mittens not too unlike the ones that Reimu wore. Despite that, she still looked cold.

She turned. She spotted me. She stopped. For a moment, the only sound was the wind. "Who’s…? Are you..." She said, coming slightly closer. I stood my ground, then awkwardly waved. Hello, I said. "You-" She began, then cut off. She stepped close enough to be within arm's length. "Is that really you?" She asked me quietly. I nodded, smiling weakly. It had been a while, after all. I felt bad about it, too. Miss Kamishirasawa was about as close to a family figure as I'd had for years growing up. Of course, for most of that time, I'd thought of her as more of a guardian than a parent. And then, I was suddenly staring at the sky. I wasn't sure how that had happened. Once second, I'd been looking at her, and a moment later, I wasn't. In fact, I was sprawled out across the snow. And my forehead hurt, quite a bit. I waited for my brain to stop rattling around in my skull, then looked down to see what had happened. There, breathing rather heavily and glaring at me, was Miss Kamishirasawa. Ah, I thought. She'd done the most infamous trick she had in her arsenal. She'd slammed her head against mine hard enough to knock me straight to the floor. It was a favourite of hers, and one she employed to great effect.

"Get up!" She told me sharply, crouching down and hauling me to my feet while the world spun around me. "Look at you! You're freezing cold, even with that coat on! And you’re looking a bit peaky!" She began dragging me along with her. I was probably halfway concussed like Tenshi had been because I didn't seem entirely capable of mounting a defence. Still, I supposed that I was at least thankful that she was dragging me by the arm and not the ear, as she'd done when I was a child. "No complaints from you!" She told me sharply. I was stumbling behind her and trying to ignore the looks I was getting from some of the villagers on the street as I was dragged past them like a scolded child. Miss Kamishirasawa didn't say a word for the whole trip, but I could tell - If it wasn't clear already - That she was upset. Eventually, we turned onto the street that I knew she lived on. I'd had to stay with her on some occasions. It was funny, actually. She had eventually become something of a guardian to me. The one that people went to if I was in trouble. She dragged me toward her house. I thought I saw someone in the street, but I didn’t get a chance to see properly. Most likely, it was just some villager who was on their own way home.

Just make sure not to hurt yourself with the scalpel! If you accidentally cut yourself, raise your hand so Sensei could take you to the nurse!
