1) Watch over 1,000 anime series.
2) Learn Japanese well enough so you can play untranslated eroge and console games.
3) Play every game ever released on the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast.
4) Always be a virgin.
5) Spent at least a year being a NEET.

That's my own personal checklist. At the very least you must meet these standards or you will be a thousand years too early to challenge /jp/.
