When screening for new animators, the standard test is to ask them to draw a cicada. The best animators get hired by studios, and their ten-frame clip of a cicada flapping its wings often makes it into a show they work on, as an Easter egg.

In the early days of the printing press, the letter "s" was the most likely to get caught, so they had to balance out the number of "s"es (this is also why the long "s", "ſ", was created).
The idea was you had an "s" quota, and one of the solutions was to balance out the number of "s"es that you used. So you could have, "The dog runs," or, "The dogs run," but never, "The dogs runs," because that would cause the machine to get stuck.
