Using that picture as reference? That's way too low. I'm not one of those dick suckers either who think artists are criminally underpaid for drawing trash. If he can actually make artwork like the Miku cling, with all the background elements and everything like that he needs to charge for his time and the quality he can crank out.

$40 commissions are like simple shading, colored full bodied drawings. If you want something good enough to print up as a poster like the Miku cling picture it costs a shit load.

If would be better if he posted his own artwork as an example instead, that would be a more accurate appraisal. I'm taking his word for it that he can make artwork just like that one.

Pic related is probably closer to a $30-$40. Basically full body, full color, simple shading and artistically good by most opinions. $20ish usually gets you sketches/uncolored pictures from decent artists.
