I'm max level in JP, and largely soloed it. You have to party up for instanced dungeons though. There are probably 8 or 10 of them up until level 58, and then at level 58 I think there are 5 more or so (2 more to be added in the big update Corea just got). Killing elites is the most fun part of the game though. They're fairly easy to solo at the beginning of the game, but later on they start to move quicker and really do a lot of damage, so most classes probably wouldn't survive without stockpiling health potions (which are really expensive, and the payout from the elites wouldn't cover the cost).
But in retrospect, getting to the level cap is easy. Partying up and killing elites is probably the quickest way, but just doing the side quests that are given to you will be enough to get you perfectly leveled for the next area.
