Technically speaking, anyone that's undergone a surgery is 'post-operative' in that sense, though they're usually only referred to as such when in the context of the surgery being applicable, like discussing someone who went under the knife to have a tumor removed, and their being 'post-operative' in a discussion on remission odds.
