See, you might think something like that because you take the yukkuri at face-value, and do not consider the deeper meaning behind them.

Yukkuri are more than bizarre little creatures that can alternate between "cute" and "annoying" at the drop of a hat. They are, essentially, the personification of the very worst traits of humanity.

From the Marisa-type's selfishness to the Alice-type's obsession with fucking, to the entire lot's general stupidity, they are the worst that humankind has to offer, condensed in the form of anthropomorphic food items.

When we derive entertainment from their abuse and deaths, we are not finding pleasure from the sight of small animals being tortured, we are reveling in the symbolic destruction of our own worst traits as well as the unpleasant aspects of humanity as a whole.

Sometimes it's okay to take it easy.
