No idea, but checking the mama list on the wiki only like 5-6 people are credited and all of them seem to be english-speaking first and foremost, with a couple of them speaking in indo or english through tweets. Though I guess with a majority of them being unknown it wouldn't shock me if more were japanese artists, but I distinctly remember back when they were happening that "locally sourced artists" was a selling point by the anons that were there at the time.
Also the one with the infamous huge face is actually a pretty good artist which makes me feel a little sad for that specific ID chuuba that she got shafted nearly as hard as the other god-awful design that's apparently her genmate.
