Exactly the point. We'd have a lot less uptight headstrong people with control-issues running around abusing or irrationally using power. Think for a second about a mentally handicapped child who listens to authority unquestioningly, and cannot independently think or rationally asses individual cases, but rather assesses everything in life based off a "rulebook". Now give him a gun and the ability to ruin lives. That's the average cop.
