I'm not going to lie, I was really really really surprised when I first heard Nene sing. I was browsing my youtube suggestions and this mix of LiSA's Rising Hope with Nene, Subaru, Pekora, and Polka REALLY shocked me when I heard Nene sing solo. BTW, Nene's ENTIRE cover of Rising Hope explains entirely every single reason I'm writing about her. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to follow 5th gen incredibly extensively (or any members for that matter... whoops) so I haven't heard her too much, and I'm literally writing this while listening to her birthday live to get more details.

Nene's voice is very very very very VERY normal. Her speaking voice is lightly textured in a way that makes me think her singing voice is also textured, but her singing voice is VERY standard and I'm highkey LIVING for it. Normally, people with textured speaking voices end up with singing voices that follow suit (like pekora), unless you've had some sort of practice singing separately. In my opinion, it sounds very clear to me that Nene's had rather extensive vocal training. Her foundations are very solid, her lungs are strong (she can hold notes), and she's VERY in tune. And by very in tune, I mean VERY VERY in tune. She has no problems with note jumps that can be difficult to do if you don't know how to do them (very easy to overshoot and go sharp). This stability also shows off her actual vocal training, because her vibrato is (while not common) well-used and she actually knows how to play with melodic lines (a fancy way of saying, she sings notes for ornament, not just for melody)! Also, her range is crazy. In what seems to be a holy grail of Holomember covers, her Gurenge cover is kinda ridiculous because LiSA's range herself is crazy. Nene somehow manages to hit the very bottom notes in the verses, while controlling her head voice SUPER SUPER well in order to hit the SINGULAR note outside of her chest voice range.

Nene also has some crazy good enunciation. Every word and character is very carefully accounted for, and everything is very clearly audible. In the world of strings, note enunciation (aka bow contact, for my fellow string players) is king for good sound, and my vocalist friends tell me that the more comfortable you are with the music part of songs, the easier it is to focus on pronunciation and enunciation. Even if Nene isn't a professional vocalist, I do think that her skill is easily at the top of casual singing at the LEAST.

Momosuzu Nene TL;DR: She's very normal, and VERY good. Her vocal texture is smooth and her training is obvious, given her skills.
