ITT: how explain touhou to normal peoples

Hi guys. I was just wondering what you think. My friend told me about Touhou recently and I tried playing it (I'm really bad aha! but I'm practicing really hard so I can beat him. Show him what a woman can do!) and I don't know what to make of it. On the one hand, the depiction of women in this game is very empowering; all of the girls are very powerful. But on the other hand I have seen some of the fan art and think the game is meant to cater to men who treat it as "fap material" and in that way the game might be seen as demeaning to women. I'm not sure whether to think that the game is supposed to give an empowering view of women because they are canonically so powerful or marginalizing them as purely objects of desire. Further consideration must be given to the very limited role of men in the games. Because there is seldom any contrast between the roles and relations between the two sexes you could see the women as a more "easy on the eyes" stand-in for male characters (which would hurt the game's case). At the same time, the actual way they are drawn in the game is not suggestive or demeaning.

So what do you think: is Touhou sexist or feminist?

I know you guys don't seem to mind either way but I'm a women's studies student and I find these issues very important.

Hi /jp/ I was playing Touhou when my mother came into my room (Yes I live with my parents).
She said: "What kind of weird children game are you playing?"
I just told her to leave my room when she wanted to talk to me.
I felt this inner rage for telling this a "children game"
Currently I am unemployed and sit at home doing basicly nothing.
Almost every evening I drink some alcohol and everything I do feels just wrong.
Also I don't had a girlfriend in quite a long time and I own a dakimakura and pvc figures.
I can't move out because I don't have the money and I don't have anyone to talk too.
What should I do?

Suppose for a moment that you DID become a little girl. How would you be able to survive with no parents and no home? You obviously couldn't apply for any serious job, and attempting to sell sexual favors on the streets would result in some innocent bystander calling the cops and having you transported to a foster home.
