Been thinking about KC's new 'mamono mana fixes literally everything' post. I thought it was kind of fucking lame at first, but I'm coming around to it.
It's not like 'uh, you can't shoot me because i have magic that makes me immune to being shot' 'ok well i have a missile launcher' 'ok well i'm immune to explosions too' kinda shit. It's a narrative force - ultimately, the central dogma of MGE is a story (or series of stories) that follow romances between humans and monsters and their successful resolution. Feel free to include as much drama as is necessary in the middle, but in the end MGE is a fairy tale - what mamono mana ensures is that things will be resolved according to that central dogma.
Call it 'Eros' will' if it makes you feel better. I don't mind it so much after a couple of days of thought. I hope meeting and marrying my wife is an adventure, though, with all it's ups and downs. I'd like for it to be a good story.
