The only /jp/ related tea I've had recently was 抹茶入り玄米茶. It was real nice.

Apart from that, I drink black tea (common brands: yorkshire tea, earl grey, twinings etc) mostly every day. And Oolong.

Also whatever "green tea" I can find locally, because importing expensive nippon tea all the time gets a bit pricey.

Great thread OP

I think I'll be getting a job soon.

I've been pretending to look for one for a couple years already, but I can't really go on like this.

My good PC is already out of commission and I can't afford to get it running again, but today the old laptop I'm using didn't want to turn itself on too. I almost had a panic attack, but I went to sleep for a couple hours and it was working again when I woke up.

My parents don't buy me anything or give me money, and I'm not living in a socialistic enough country to be able to get on welfare.

My social anxiety has been clearing up a bit recently, so if I find an easygoing enough job, I'll probably apply. Now, just to start looking...

I'm sorry, /jp/.

Lets talk about genres and content of visual novels, /jp/.

I've been recently trying to sort out how VN break up into genres on few different levels, but I've been having some trouble.

On the very uppermost level, we have the distinction between NVL and ADV. Then we have things like kinetic/sound novels as a subset of NVL, and dating sims as a subset of ADV.

Next we have broad content/audience descriptors that can apply to either, such as galge or otomege.

And then on the lowest level we have specific thematic descriptors such as moege, nakige, nukige, utsuge, and so on. Things like BL or yuri/shoujo-ai/whatever, too.

And kind of outside of this we have the eroge/all ages distinction, and hybrids like VN/RPG(or would those always count as subset of ADV?)

Does this seem more or less right? Is it missing something?

I realized I really don't care much for the idea of a single protagonist in fiction.

What are some notable VN that have multiple protagonists? And I don't mean just a short part from the point of view of another character, but something where if you were asked who is the main character, you'd have to list several of them.

Do you think that concept works at all in VN? Or is having a main character necessary? Maybe just in works that require a relatable protagonist in order for the wish fulfillment fantasy to work?

What do you think?

Still a NEET, probably not for much longer, though.
