Same thing happened to me with a chitoi hand, with a choice of discarding either 2 man or 1 pin. No one tossed the 1 pin and the round ended with another player who riichi'd with a 1 pin in his melds. While I shouldn't be surprised that everyone went into defense, still dissapointed with the outcome.
