I went from leaving my home maybe once per year at christmas for around 10 years to being able to go outside and even order food in person(no bully this used to be impossible for me)

now I'm in the golden zone where I'm not well enough to work yet but well enough to enjoy life a little bit more, it's pretty nice

Neither was I, but there is no point in regretting over the past, just enjoy the moment you have now.
The /jp/ right now isnt too bad. I like the silly style of posting unique to this place. I wonder where I'll go when this place bites the dust, its the only place I use for japanese entertainment discussion now, and I was never interested enough in the offshoot sites.

I can't decide if I should play CK2 or Cities Skylines and instead of just starting one game I just sit here doing nothing.

It sounds cliched, but when you spend a lot of time with someone and get enamored with them ("love"), there are a lot of endorphins released and you feel great, forget about sad things and become hopeful. There have been multiple studies on the chemical reactions in the brain during attraction and long duration spent with others.
It's like being high.
You can get addicted to a dependency on it. Like taking tons of painkillers with booze or smoking a lot of weed, it's an easy happiness that lessens your worries due to the chemicals in your brain changing. You feel like your life suddenly improved, like you're happy and the future will be alright.
Looking at it scientifically, you can see why people crave this idea that's so romanticized in culture. (Besides it being a social norm).

That's a good point. Humans are social creatures. I think the person you're replying to meant that they would rather not have to keep up with the routine of friends or a lover.
It's much easier to reply to people online and close the tab and play games, rather than maintain an IRL relationship.

I thought the commercial was heartwarming. I wouldn't buy it, but getting texted by a robot sounds nicer than pretending to text on the bus so people don't think you're a weirdo.
