Yamato Museum sells Lathe-chan merch. The Lawsons should have restocked on anniversary merch by now. There is one at the Nakadori shopping district.

Takehara is nice. Check out the old historic street, go up Saihoji temple, and have okonomiyaki at Horikawa.

Nice, hope you'll have a good time there. I too stayed at a Comfort Hotel at Kure.

Do check out the Lawsons while you are there. While I couldn't find anything while I was in Kure, a new batch of anniversary goods was released when I was in another city. Hopefully they'll still stock the 10th anniversary stuff while you are there.
