Couldn't even get past the first midboss. Awesome. The fact that I forgot completely about the shield might have been the cause.

Now that I remember it, it isn't. I'm sure I have played this game once before, but I probably deleted it because it couldn't run well on my (horrible) machine.
The shield system is pretty cool.
