Well, I guess a lot of it comes down to how they come across on the day. I never saw those auditions so it's not like I can say what was different about her way back then but I can say that when she first joined AKB, I didn't really notice her nearly as much as I do these days so it's possible that back then she hadn't progressed to the level the producers felt was required to become a member in the first place.

I mean, just looking at her now, she seems so much more mature and professional than she did when she first joined AKB, at least to me, so yeah. I do have to wonder what she was like at the time she auditioned for SKE. Either way, she's much better off in AKB, so it was for the best in the end.
