Not sure if this fits, but I know an anime that some of us will easily be able to relate to, called Revolutionary Girl Utena. The titular character is a girl who dresses in a masculine way and says she wants to be a prince. The intro song's video even implies that she's homo-romantic. I have not seen the whole show, but the movie even has a lovely scene of Utena and Anthy dancing.

Never thought I'd see the day where Godzilla had canon /ss/. But it was a pleasant surprise.

Now I'm hoping the sequel with King Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra will bring more Kaiju girls.
