Apart from one frightening moment when a branch fell to the ground near me, I didn't run into any problems. Just before I headed back to the Shrine, I looked out past the torii gate and over the valley. I couldn't see much thanks to the heavy rain, but then there was a flash of lightning, and I thought that I could see figures out in the distance, flitting back and forth between the village and the mountain. I had no idea what that could be about, but I hoped it wasn't something dangerous. Maybe Shameimaru would know.

Either way, I didn't want to be out much longer. I was, predictably, soaked through, and it wouldn't be long before I was as sick as Reimu, so I hurried back to the Shrine and squeezed back through the storm shutters, pulling them into place behind me. I opened the door, pulled my wet shoes off, stepped inside and closed it behind me.

Reimu was waiting in front of me, her arms folded. From one hung a towel. "Sit." She told me, gesturing to a pillow on the floor. Not really sure what she was planning, I obeyed. I heard Reimu settle on her knees behind me, then I felt her hand on my shoulder. "I won't have you soaking my floor." She said, before dropping the towel on my head where it flopped over my eyes. I was about to reach up and pluck it off, when I felt her hand disappear from my shoulder, and then I felt the towel begin to move. Reimu was towelling my hair dry. She had a very light touch, but it turned out to be very relaxing. Each movement made some pleasant tingling run through my body, and I suddenly felt very sleepy. Then, she moved the towel down to my neck, then my shoulders and arms. She ran the towel down my back, then took hold of my shoulders and pulled me back. I felt my mostly dry head settle onto something soft and warm, and when I looked up, it was to see Reimu's face staring down at me with an unreadable expression on her face.

My head was in her lap.

She ran the towel across my chest and stomach, then laid it to one side. "Done? Offertory box in?" She asked me. I nodded, not wanting to move my head any more than I had to. "Good. Last thing I want is it getting filled up with water. It's heavy enough on its own." I hadn't thought it was that heavy, but I was willing to stay silent. I already knew that Reimu was stronger than she looked. Reimu brought her hands back to my head and began absentmindedly running them through my hair. I felt like I almost melted immediately, the pleasurable sensations running through my body with each movement of her nimble fingers. I must have looked happy, because Reimu looked down at me with a slight smile. "Enjoying yourself? Come on, I've pulled out some oranges, but you can peel them." I felt strangely cold when Reimu pushed me back off of her lap, but I shuffled around to sit at the table where I could see the bowl of oranges. I tried to shuffle forward, but Reimu stopped me. She looked at me with a strange expression, then unclipped her skirt, letting it fall to the ground around her legs.
