Impossible, see:

Given Shiki's thoughts just prior and the setup it's hard to imagine nothing happened while they time-skipped the entire night. The only thing that might realistically stop him was the presence of Roa but we know better than that.

It's a peculiar scene and the tendrils only serve to enhance the foreboding atmosphere. The manga has a weird panel when Roa questions Shiki's humanity. Lines shouldn't move but as he pushes himself and his vision blurs, the world itself melts away and all that's left behind is the world of death like the moon. Maybe Shiki overlayed reality with the boundary/death? Or it's showing the concept that everything in the world is linked and the theme of Tsukihime/KT where Shiki sees the world itself as something that can collapse at any moment. It is rather interesting what sort of unique thing is happening for him to be doing this.
