She hummed, before suddenly sneezing. "Ooh. Sorry, must be someone talking about me." She paused for a moment longer, looking over her shoulder at us. Then, she turned back to us once more, slowly. "Call it a reporter's hunch...But I think I might know how to run this story." She nodded, then turned back. "I think we'll have to have that interview soon. Tell you what: Are you free in the next few days? I'll come to the Shrine so Reimu can keep an eye on me if it'll make you feel better." It would, I replied. "How about...The third? About midday?" I looked over at Yamame, because I had a hunch. She thought for a moment, then shook her head. "Ah. The fifth?" That time, she got a nod. "Excellent!" She said with a smile. "I'll be seeing you, then!" She turned and shot off into the sky, which I noticed seemed to be lightening slightly.

I turned to Yamame and stared at her. She opened her mouth, and I stared at her so hard that it was like I'd cut her off verbally. "A cold. That's all!" I tilted my head. "Seriously!" She insisted. "It's not even as bad as what I gave Komachi. At least Aya didn't actually kiss you." I supposed that was better than it could have been. I decided that I'd best give her a hug. It was my usual response and it seemed to work. Was that really all? "Y-Yes..." She stammered. I stopped stroking her hair and very slowly looked down at her. "Just a little ear infection..." She mumbled quietly. I raised an eyebrow. "It'll just throw her balance off. Probably." That last bit was mumbled very quietly. "But I made it very short-lived, so that's why I didn't want you to do the third. She'll be fine by the fifth."

Slowly, I nodded and went back to stroking her hair for a moment, then remembered that we were still standing around on the veranda, so I decided to actually look at what was happening. It looked like the festival portion had ended, and the stalls were already more or less gone. As I looked, I caught one last stall, this one being run by a youkai bird who I'd seen on the very outskirts of the village before. Mystia, I thought. She was just finishing packing up her supplies with the help of a short girl with dark turquoise hair and floppy animal ears that I'd seen sweeping in the temple before. She had a killer voice; I knew that much. I’d never seen a girl capable of shouting like she could. As I watched, they finished packing away and took off, leaving the courtyard as empty as it had been at this time yesterday. Emptier, actually, because at this time yesterday, it had still been covered in snow.

I looked down the other side of the veranda and blinked. There was a leg sticking out, a frilly sock on the foot. I decided that I should go and have a look, because I was surprised that the place seemed so empty. I supposed that it was Winter, but when I'd shown up to the Shrine in the middle of Summer, it had been completely packed with sleeping bodies. Yamame trailed behind me, but she looked curious too. I poked my head around the side of the veranda and gazed in. Ah, I thought. This was where they'd all gone.

The foot turned out to be that of Yuyuko Saigyouji, who'd fallen asleep on her back next to Youmu, who...Didn't look like she'd woken up after her little sword incident. Slightly further into the room was Miss Narumi, who'd taken off her coat and spread it over herself like a blanket. Up against the wall, I saw Seiran, cross-legged and asleep, still stiffly upright. Next to her, in much the same pose, was that villager who's name I'd forgot to actually get from him. I was surprised that he'd stuck around. I couldn't see Lady Hecatia or her companions, but Miss Yuuka was here, her arms crossed and her boot still on. She was asleep, though I didn't think I'd know it if it wasn't for the consistent rise and fall of her chest. Elly was next to her, clutching her scythe.

Suddenly, Yamame giggled. I looked over my shoulder at her, then followed her gaze. At the back of the room, Kisami and Komachi were sat with their backs against each other. Kisami's hair was all over Komachi, and looked like she was sleeping in a red field or something. Komachi was slightly more hunched forward, though, with her scythe clutched in her arms, the blade up in the air. I thought it seemed slightly dangerous, but no one had seemed that bothered, clearly. Ki was still wearing Raki's outfit, but she seemed to have also acquired her chains at some point. That was...curious. I didn't see Lady Kasen or Raki in here, so I wondered if they'd made it back to the dojo.

Nah, she does her job at a relaxed pace, but every 60 years (or at least in PoFV) there is a massive influx of souls. Before she realised, Gensokyo was already covered in flowers.
