Can anyone give me a hand here?

Somebody shared WAV's of an album I really wanted, but that I only had in mp3.

However, when I compared the spectrals, I found that the WAV's he gave me cut off at 20khz while my old mp3s go up to 22khz........... WHY???

Did the guy maybe purposely give me a bad rip?

How the fuck is this possible?

Some dude supposedly gave me a wav rip of an album I really wanted, but just by comparing the spectrals, theres a disgusting difference, the MP3 somehow extends up to 22khz, and the WAVs cut off at 20khz, WHY?

I had the Mp3's before, downloaded from somewhere, and now the wavs that I received make ZERO sense
