You've clearly never had good alcohol then. Fine beer, scotch and wine all have an incredibly rich variety of smells and flavors, and textures as well with wine and beer.

People who think that all booze is toxic-tasting redneck shit like Jack Daniel's, and that all beer is mass produced junk like Budweiser, are far too ignorant on the subject to be privy to comment on it.

I know for a fact that some underageb& lurk here; I used to be a fucking faggot like you kids thinking that alcohol was bad and not worth trying because all I'd ever had was a sip of some Coors and thought it tasted terrible. I still think it tastes terrible. The catch is that what adults won't tell you the complete picture when educating you about alcohol.. that some alcoholic drinks just legitimately taste incredible, like nothing else in the fucking world, and that some people don't actually drink it for the ethanol but rather for the enjoyment of the uniqueness of the beverage.

High schoolers and young college kids usually don't realize why alcohol is legal, and that most adults will drink on occasion but will fucking stop before they get too fucked up and have more than enough willpower to do so. It's fucking bad manners/trashy to get absolutely piss-drunk at a party as an adult, you're not supposed to waste good beer and liquor by chugging it etc and that's why kids buy all the cheap ass shit, because they only want to get drunk off it and damn near kill themselves of alcohol poisoning. They're doing it wrong wrong wrong, and don't have the money or proper experience to do it right.

Also ZUN drinks like crazy and is a total sake/beer connoisseur. If you don't like alcohol, you by proxy don't like ZUN, and hence you are an enemy of /jp/'s deity and need to leave. Deal with it.

The first two are objects that I could use to barter with for food/shelter/protection etc. The Tengu apparently have some way of getting power (how else would Hatate's phone run) and so the goggles won't do nothing after a short time. The scotch is for anyone who fancies alcohol and could also work as a gift. Basically the first thing I'd try to do is go seek out Hakurei Shrine and wait for Suika to show up; such a gift would make her a friend that could also travel pretty much anywhere and protect me quite well.

The rifle is of course in case the first couple of youkai I encounter aren't friendly at all, and so I would at least have a fighting chance.. plus in conjunction with the goggles I would have an advantage against many of them. It could also be another useful trade item.
