Personally I think it's important to learn generic drawing fundamentals, such as perspective, shapes, deformations and so on. but you should also have a collection of art from artist you like. After that do what the video describes. First break down the drawing into simple shapes by drawing over it. Study how those shapes connect. You will see there's a pattern for how the head connects to the neck, where the ears go, where the eyes go and so on.

After that, do your best to draw the same thing on the side. Compare the one you drew over the image and see where you went wrong. Do you make the head too big? Are your eyes too high or too low on average? Where do you lack in proportions, can you make guidelines tt always find the correct points? Complete many cycles of that, then try to draw something of your own by using multiple references. Art is a lot about remixing.

Reminder to NOT compare yourself to Ina or any other person. Comparing your skills to other people skills its an extremely destructive behaviour. Always compare yourself to the yourself of the past. Work on the present to become the best version of yourself in the future.
