The only thing separating your so-called 'manface' in anime is the eyes. Thinner for guys, larger for women. Coincidentally, thinner eyes also denotes age.

This is why women ages 16-40 all look the same in anime, unless they thin for stylistic purposes - IE the girls in Black Lagoon when they get their murderboners nice and throbbing.

This reason is also why 'traps' are literally just women that we're told are girls. The flat, reduced feature set of anime is extremely limiting.
