I have a friend who's a die-hard fan of fighting games and he ordered IaMP back in 2005 along with a copy of Melty blood react. It was fun for about a month but after that, I stopped giving a shit until spring 2006 when I heard about the official games and that there were translations available for them. I didn't have much experience with danmaku games other than Ikaruga and Dodonpachi on consoles back then, needless to say that Touhou refueled my interest in the genre.
