The only people who worship AI like this are the people without any actual understanding of the subject matter and are the least qualified to give an opinion on it.
They'll point to absolutely dogshit sub-pajeet level code as some kind of amazing product, even though trying to make such a pile of shit into something functional would take far more effort and produce something of much worse quality than had a competent programmer written it from scratch.

Yeah, there's the occasional author adding some weird quirks, but they usually have the dignity to document their functions enough to make them understandable. And anyone doing translations can reasonably be expected to be able to understand the commentary they added.
Figuring out how to convey it properly in English is another issue, but that's more of a language struggle than a code issue. Assuming the Jap in question didn't just fuck up their function from the start, since there's some real smoothbrains mixed into their community.
