So what I've been wondering lately is this: Would it actually be possible to poison someone's food with explosives like he described? Hear me out, obviously "small bombs" are impossible to put in someone's food without them noticing, but what if this happened:

"Chemical A" and "Chemical B" are harmless on their own, but cause an explosive reaction when mixed together. The guests are served an appetizer that contains Chemical A at the start of the banquet. The main course contains Chemical B, and is not served to the guests until the Chemical A is in their stomach. Chemical B does not meet with Chemical A in the stomach until dessert, when the explosion happens (which explains all the scattered sweets found near the victims). Through this method, a closed room multiple-homicide is possible without the culprit actually being in the room.

Could this be the truth behind the chapel murders in Turn of the Golden Witch?
