This won't strengthen the joints at all. It will soften the TPE in sensitive areas prone to tearing. You want to apply this once or twice over the next year. Or if tearing starts to appear you apply just once or twice. Too much application will make the area too soft which will also cause tearing. Just put it on those tense areas and move on. Flight case is a great idea and if not that you'll find a space. I use my closet and just stand them with some blankets and wall padding.

For the joints the best thing you can do is fuck your doll. You'll get an idea of what needs to be protected. Finally, at some phase, you need to just give in. You're gonna degrade your doll or you're not fucking it.

Akira is one of the best dolls on the market especially in terms of value. A lot of us will have one even if we can afford more expensive dolls. They're just built great. The sculpt on the vagina is meh but they are durable which is important. Very resistant to tearing. The "ECO" or "affordable" line may start to tear early. I have one that fell apart pretty quickly after a heat wave (fml...). I have a Piperdoll Akira 150cm which seems to be a higher grade of TPE and has had some slight tearing that could have been prevented with better care. None of this matters if your goal is to have a great tactile experience above all. Piperdoll offers that and so they get high reviews.

Every silicone vendor should sell a sample and have video touch tests. Other than that we all struggle with this purchase decision. Consensus is you just can't beat TPE for feel but some silicone blends come close. I like where Piper is going with this. Zelex made a big splash with their super soft silicone. It's a tough decision and worse, some of us are stimulated visually a little more than tactically. They say silicone is more durable but I've heard serious tearing issues from Piper, Zelex, and Gynoid personally.

It's all anecdotes and I really don't think you can go wrong with a major brand that has good reviews on touch sensation.
