Except it doesn't. Kanon's corpse only vanished in ep 2 and 4 Shannon only commits suicide at ep2 which is confirmed by Battler.
The bigger red herring is Lambda's mention that when one dies, the other vanishes, which is an almost sure confirmation that they are one and the same.
Ep 1, Shannon ''dies'' yet Kanon stays alive but later dies (fakes being dead but whatever).
Ep 2, Kanon ''dies'' yet Shannon stays alive and later dies.
Ep 3, both of them die at the start.
Ep 4, both die at the same time
Ep 5, neither of them die.

Nowhere is it possible to notice that when one dies, the other one immediately vanishes, like Lambda suggest.
There is no way to interpret it other than a red herring or as a literal fashion that never actually happens anyone in any of the games.

Also, after all the murders are completed, Beatrice revives.
If Shannon dies, like she does in ep 2, she cannot meet Battler dressed as Beatrice.

Ep 3 also makes no sense considering that Maria plainly states that if anyone finds the gold, the game automatically ends, no matter if Yasu knows about it or not. Beatrice herself says that risk is needed for magic to happen. If there is no risk, there is no magic. So if someone finds the gold and the murders continue, it defeats the purpose of a risk. Not to mention Beatrice wants to get caught which is why she taunts people to find the gold. Yasu would have noticed Eva and Rosa leaving the family housing if everyone was camped there. It's stupid to suggest that Yasu was not keeping an eye on the only building where everyone was at and didn't notice two adults leaving one after another.

And if it was Eva that killed everyone, it brings forward the web of red truth by Eva on who killed Nanjo is Yasu stops killing.
Not to mention the first twilight of ep 3 being impossible for Shannon to get into the Chapel and lock the door from the inside using the chapel key.
