Yeah, this line is super dumb.

Even if you think it's just the characters being meant to be out of touch, the fact something like this isn't clear is already dumb.

Heck, you can see some of it in the Jayden/Meow relationship too, where although he says he'll love her even if her body is male, it's clear he'd prefer if her body is female. He genuinely seems to write it as "I love you in spite of your gender".
