You're being too greedy. You might accomplish something if you really, really loved one person and were set on making it real, even if that person wouldn't give you a positive response - you'd still be in love and like her so incredibly much that even if she said no you'd like her anyway and want all the best for her and task yourself with proceeding with the relationship even if the partner is unwilling.
