They aren't super soldiers, they are an intelligence unit. And they didn't expect the kids to fight back. I know what you mean, but I don't really dislike it. It's a really triumphant ending for the story.

It's not like they did anything impossible for a human. They just had balls, put in some effort and got really fucking lucky. That's what gives the story tension at this point. Hanyuu has basically used up all of her remaining power to turn into a physical being and become the piece that was previously missing.

Rika knows they are risking their last chance at a happy future, so from her perspective this is all tense as fuck. Of course they are all going to survive somehow, the reader knows this. They are struggling against insurmountable odds and somehow winning by pure luck. It's fucking magical. But even that luck wouldn't be worth shit if the were weak-willed and didn't give it their all to save their friends.
