Now, I don't look at my dakimakura as a substitute for a 3D girlfriend, mind you. My dakimakura is a big comfy pillow for me to sleep with. The fact that my waifu is on the cover is just nice. It's nice to wake up to her face.

That said, 3D girlfriends are inferior in almost every way to their 2D counterparts. For every positive thing you could possible say about having an actual girlfriend there is, in my opinion, an equally big drawback... and then some.

I had to learn the hard way. I was chatting with a friend about this last week. I have had 3D relationships (yeah, I know - get out now. chill. it's been almost a decade) and they were all awful. However, I do think it's important for some people to have these experiences to see what they are (not) missing. Once you're on the other side of what a pain in the ass trying to invest in 3D girls is, you'll never look back or feel lonely again.

At least that's how it worked for me.
