My biggest problem in kancolle character characterization is where the characterization is taken from desu, the character are written from a 1941 perspective, or rather their perspective when they launched, when personally I would have written from the perspective of the ship as it was when they sunk.

So like, CarDivs 1 and 2 would be the same, CarDiv5 would not act like the youngest kids and would have a soldier's pride (Zuikaku's pride is not the pride of a veteran, rather of a greenhorn).
