You do raise a good point in that most wouldn't likely consider you as a romantic partner but it is entirely possible and folklore from the east and west is littered with such stories of animals assuming human form to romance someone so its not out of the question at all, much less the gods seducing and claiming humans as spouses. Though yeah I wouldn't count in an anon safely taking someone like Rumia as a lover without a lot of danger. Someone like a fairy, an oni, or a myouren youkai however? It's entirely possible with enough persistence if you play your cards right.

I could see a man eater like rumia needing a disguise but youkai like tengu, tannuki, and kitsunes would have a human form they naturally turn to and could be considered their "true" human appearance sans any personalization they do for fun
