Not a bad gig if you set your own days and hours. But if you care enough about your community, dream a little bigger.

The Order is a bit like the Marines in One Piece. It’s a massive, ubiquitous organization that no human can avoid. Its goals may not be benevolent, but the people in it are varied due to how massive it is. Sometimes it might be the only way most humans in the setting can leave a positive mark on their community. You have the genuinely kind-hearted heroes and the pious churchgoer, but also the zealous, bloodthirsty inquisitor or the hateful and corrupt bureaucrat. If you hate Wan Piss: the machine is bad, the cogs aren’t. The cogs are to be rescued and married off after all.

That said, they’re not to be rooted for. A special breed of miseryfag just sees paladins, gold and blue color schemes, crosses and goes hummina hummina awooga I’m an oppressed underdog who surely won’t be fucked over if we were to actually win. At least the humans in the setting largely don’t know the Chief God wants to go back to monsters eating human entrails, but miseryfags have no excuse. Who knows, they’d likely simp for any faction so as long as it’s the human one.
