I reached 4-10 last night and was looking at the wiki and saw this strategy posted; the guy says his gunner and Baba aren't even maxed out. I have the 8 fox swords but I don't have enough leveled/fed swords that can cover the entrances unless a mountain like Ichijoudani can pull it off. Although if Minakuchi can handle it then others might not necessarily need to be maxed, obviously each girl would need to be able to solo a cannon though.

It's weird how the ranges/spacing works, I would have expected the crabs to hit them, but obviously they don't.
