Have you read any of the print works at all? Do you even know why youkai are even endangered in the first? Are you an actual tertiary?

The problem with youkai is that their consciousness (or soul, or self, whatever you wish to call it) is extremely weak. It is, in fact, so weak that as little as residual human desires is capable of totally overwriting their self (this is why vengeful spirits are extremely dangerous to youkai, by the way). Ordinary animals have a stronger "self" than youkai. Only the oldest, most powerful youkai are able to self-maintain, and none of those youkai have the least bit of interest in Byakuren's bullshit.
