TL;DR Marginally, and sometimes not really.
Further consider that judging from various leaks where someone just shit the files straight out of the cameras onto us, several studios were still using early 00's HDV 1440x1080i cameras up until only a few years ago. Adding mosaic inherently adds another layer of compression to already compressed "source" video that's barely above camcorder tier (fkn interlaced MPEG-2 - the source video they're working with is unko)
And then you either pick your poison between bottom-dollar Blu-Ray mastering using who knows what, or the ~6 Mbps x264 FANZA stream. Only "benefit" you might be able to squeeze out of the BD is running QTGMC with super slow ass placebo tier settings to deinterlace it to 60p instead of decimating it to 30p like they do for FANZA streaming. I've done it once or twice because I had the remux anyways from a megapack or something.
Using x265 on the end result made it smaller than the webrip and it arguably looks the tiniest bit better. Was it worth it? Hell no. Would I do it again? Nope. If there's an actual proper streamrip, don't waste your time. If it's some zhang re-encode, maybe, IF you have a newer computer that you don't mind chugging away at it for ~24+ hours straight.
