>Will Umineko Gold be on the same engine as the Steam version?
>Our friends at Witch Hunt are going to be in charge of programming, not Catbox, so unfortunately there is not much that I personally can say about the engine that will be used to incorporate the PS3 graphics. I do know that there will be some limitations to the effects that we are able to implement (for example, there will NOT be animated lip flaps when the characters speak), but the PS3 sprites, backgrounds, CG scenes, and most of the effects will be intact!
>About mixing sprites/background
>As far as I know, you will not be able to mix and match sprite and background styles, but all three styles of graphics will be available to play with separately!
>To what degree are your partner companies involved in Umineko Gold (MangaGamer, 07th Expansion, Witch Hunt, etc.)? What are they contributing to the project?
> MangaGamer will be instrumental in helping us to distribute our final product if the Kickstarter succeeds. Additionally, they will also be involved with the implementation of one of our stretch goals, which I am not able to disclose at this time. WH has been appointed to program the PS3 graphics and the English voice files into the game. They have also been a vital part of our casting process, they have directly approved all English audio produced thus far, and they have worked with us directly on the necessary script adaptation edits needed for both the dub and the audiobook podcast.
>Adding more about the japanese voice acting
>Yes. Until we have funding for our base goal (which includes the graphics update, the English dub, and the audiobook), we cannot negotiate for the Japanese voices at all, and we will have no way of knowing exactly how much it will cost to purchase the rights to that content until negotiations begin (if they ever do.)
Better not hoping for it.
