I think the tragic thing is that she CAN'T have an endgame. She could completely anihilate societal order but after a while she's not going to be satisfied with the state of affairs and try to mess it up all over again. It may even not be physically healthy for her to lack have that friction against others.

Many youkai in mythology have weird behaviour patterns, like the spirit that licks up dirty bathrooms, or the wall one that stands in front of people. Why do they do what they do? It's their nature.
