looking at things like pic related it's the sort of thing i have seen in multiple series basically since forever but never thought much of it, thinking it was more like cowboy standoffs
but no it isn't, it's just countermeasure speedchess to a ridiculous degree, and ridiculous may be an understatement, can't remember which series made me realize this because it wasn't dendro, but when it "clicked" it was like DAMN
i can't help but applaud the sheer shameless gall of a grand total of 10 or so attacks on an ugly betty edgehog taking like half the volume just from how absurd the countermeasure stacking with razor thin margins of error was
