Okay, so long as you don't act like a huge braindead FGOfag or talk about the cutest pairings/characters, or waifupost, I doubt anyone will try to argue with you or find you a big annoyance. Just keep it to the raw lore stuff, if you must.

Personally I don't have an issue with high school, it's about the presentation, the way the setting is used, the way characters are introduced, the protagonist, and how proeminent Nasu's writing style is. All of these are noticeably way weaker in FGO compared to his other major works.

Reading the novels was a real treat as someone who loved the movies, since they have a lot of extra little details, despite how faithful the movies are.
But yeah, the different atmospheres of each individual movie are absolutely masterful, the way it presents the city and how the music is used created some truly unforgettable scenes.
Urban fantasy mystery is probably my favorite genre of fiction at this point, in no small part thanks to Nasu.

It's been years since I read it, but doesn't picking the wrong room lead to a bad end at the end of Akiha's?
And yeah, Shiki is a damn lucky guy.

Extra is pretty much the closest the series gets to "waifu bait shit" though, outside of Grand Order. Sadly if you want more like Fate/Zero, the series has strayed further away from that due to GOshit's massive popularity and trying to appeal to its audience, and all the non-Fate works have practically been abandoned in recent years.
Still, I would recommend the Kara no Kyoukai films to you, for a Nasu work that also has a great sense of aesthetics while taking itself seriously.
