Their /jp/ is nice. I've mostly stuck to small boards for a few years (visit /tc/ occasionally as well), they have a sense of community you can't really get anywhere else. Back to 4/jp/, I ended up hating this place because of how stagnant it became, just looking at the catalog the board is about 80% generals, 15% touhou shitposting and 5% threads that actually try to talk about something new.

When it comes to generals why don't you faggots ever start a thread about some subject with a unique angle or idea rather than "Kancolle/Idol/Monster Girl/etc. General #512"? Don't formalize the name so faggots can easily find their little hugboxes, make people look through the rest of the board so they actually interact with it and put thought into your OPs to get a decent discussion going. Make people think and contribute something novel that /jp/sies who don't usually visit those threads would be interested in, otherwise you just end up with these shitty subcommunities separated off into their little corners of the board with no one actually interacting with anyone else outside those threads.

Add to that it feels like the place has slowly become overrun with normalfags and the self-moderation associated with old /jp/ of NEETs outshitposting retarded newfags that try to troll them is also long gone (along with those NEETs themselves). It's just a containment board for generals the janitors don't want shitting up other boards at this stage.
