Why should /jp/ take precedent from other boards?

So where do you draw the line? Would something like Bocchi still be welcomed as "niche" after it exploded in popularity? Should dragon ball be here if it loses popularity one day? I'm repeating myself, but in my opinion once something gains its own board it loses its niche license and based on rule 1 becomes off topic to /jp/. Anime and manga in general falls under that umbrella.
